Katherine Mary Humble is an English television presenter and narrator, mainly working for the BBC, specialising in wildlife and science programmes. Humble served as president of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds from 2009 to 2013. She is an ambassador for the UK walking charity Living Streets.

In 1990, Kate Humble appeared for the first time as an actress in a TV production, Spymaker: The Secret Life of Ian Fleming, and was credited as “Lauren Heston … The redhead”. She was the assistant to a casting director who was looking for an actress to play a brief nude scene, and she got the job herself.

Kate Humble started her television career as a researcher, later transferring to presenting programmes such as Top Gear, Tomorrow’s World and the 2001 series The Holiday Programme – You call the shots where the team travelled the world[14] doing whatever viewers recommended, using the then-novel media of text messaging and emailing the team as they travelled.

From 2000 to 2005, Kate Humble presented a BBC series called Rough Science, in which a number of scientists were set various challenges to be solved using basic tools and supplies.

Kate Humble presented The Blue Planet Live! on the 2008 UK tour at Wembley Arena, St David’s Hall in Cardiff and at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

In February 2011 Kate Humble presented a three-part series of programmes, The Spice Trail, on the trail of six of the world’s most valuable spices, covering their history, trade, mythology and usage.

In March 2012, she co-presented with Helen Czerski a three-part BBC series, Orbit. In July, Kate Humble co-presented Volcano Live with Iain Stewart.

In 2017, Kate Humble presented the BBC Two documentary series Extreme Wives with Kate Humble. In the first episode she visited the Kuria people in Kenya and explored issues of polygamy and female genital mutilation. In the second episode she spoke to members of the Haredi orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem. The third episode meets the matrilineal community of Shillong in the Indian state of Meghalaya. In 2018 she became president of the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust.

Kate Humble’s book, Thinking on My Feet: The small joy of putting one foot in front of another, was shortlisted for the 2019 Wainwright Prize.

In November 2020, Kate Humble was included in the BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour Power List 2020.

Kerrie Gosney is an English weather presenter employed by ITV Yorkshire.

Kerrie Gosney undertook a Film, Media and Communication degree at Sheffield Hallam University and graduated in 1998.

Kerrie Gosney joined Granada Media Group (now ITV plc) in May 2000 as a continuity announcer at Yorkshire Television studios in Leeds, where she provided links for Border, Granada, Tyne Tees and Yorkshire. In November 2002, Kerrie Gosney became a weather presenter for the aforementioned region.

On 1 August 2022 Kerrie Gosney was promoted to lead weather presenter for Yorkshire.

Maya Indea Jama is a British television presenter and radio DJ. Maya Jama co-presented BBC One’s Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer alongside Peter Crouch and Alex Horne and was the presenter of the BBC Three competition Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star for the third and fourth series and ITV2’s dating series Love Island from series 9.

Maya Jama co-presented Trending Live! on 4Music from 2015 until 2017, Cannonball on ITV in 2017, the MTV show True Love or True Lies in 2018, and the first series of The Circle with Alice Levine on Channel 4. In radio, Maya Jama hosted #DriveWithMaya on Rinse FM from 2014 to 2017, and co-presented Radio 1’s Greatest Hits and presented her eponymous show, Maya Jama on BBC Radio 1 from 2018 to 2020. In 2023, Maya Jama took over as the host of the ITV2 dating reality series Love Island.

Lara Rostron will become Duncan Wood’s new permanent co-host on the 6pm programme.

Lara Rostron has years of experience working as a presenter and reporter in Yorkshire, the North East and around the UK.

Lara Rostron said: “I am thrilled to be joining the ITV Calendar team and to have the opportunity to work alongside Duncan Wood as we share the region’s news each night with a wonderful audience.

“Yorkshire is my home; I moved here with my husband and young family in 2012 and fell in love with the place and the people right from the very start. I feel incredibly privileged to be co-presenting ITV Calendar and I am really looking forward to getting to know our viewers.”

Lara Rostron , who lives in North Yorkshire, has reported on some of the region’s major news stories including the 2015 Boxing Day floods in York and the closure of Kellingley Colliery, the last deep coal mine in Britain.

Co-presenter Duncan Wood said: “I am looking forward to starting a new chapter on ITV News Calendar with Lara. She’s a great talent who knows the region and the people who live here.”

Alex Scott began her media career while still playing football, appearing on programmes such as Soccer AM,[26] with other minor roles at BBC Sport, BT Sport, and Sky Sports. She wrote a weekly women’s football column in the Morning Star newspaper, and a column in The Independent during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

In 2016, Alex Scott appeared in Bear Grylls’ ITV show, Mission Survive, which she won.

Following her retirement in 2017, Alex Scott turned her focus full-time to television broadcasting, co-presenting on Match of the Day Kickabout. She became well known to a wider audience when she covered the 2018 FIFA World Cup, becoming the first female football pundit at a World Cup for the BBC. After the tournament, she continued to provide insight on the Premier League, and in August 2018, became the first female pundit on Sky Sports, joining the Super Sunday team. She covered the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup for the BBC. In August 2019, Alex Scott was announced as the new co-host of Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday, alongside Chris Kamara. Since 2020, Alex Scott has been a regular co-host on the annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony. Alex Scott is also a relief guest presenter on The One Show.

In September 2019, Alex Scott was a contestant on the 17th series of Strictly Come Dancing, paired with professional dancer Neil Jones. She was the first woman footballer to take part in the show. The couple were eliminated in week 11, coming fifth.

Nicola Sian Thorp is an English broadcaster, columnist, activist, and former actress. She is known for her role as Nicola Rubinstein in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street (2017–2019), as well as her contributions to the newspaper Metro and the programmes This Morning, and Talk Today.

In 2018, Nicola Thorp competed for ITV in Sport Relief’s “Clash of the Channels” boat race, and started writing a regular column for freesheet Metro.co.uk, her first focusing on period poverty for women. Since 2019, Nicola Thorp has also been a regular contributor for This Morning.

Ellie Harrison is an English television presenter, best known for co-presenting Countryfile from 2009 to 2023.

Ellie Harrison currently provides filmed reports or is a presenter on various TV shows, including: Countryfile, Country Tracks, The Great British Winter and The One Show for the BBC; and Daily Planet & Outrageous Acts of Science for the Discovery Channel.

In December 2014, Ellie Harrison took over as President of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust from Sir Henry Elwes.

Since 2015, Ellie Harrison has co-presented Secret Britain on BBC One. In 2015, she presented Dinosaur Britain, a two-part documentary for ITV. In 2016, she presented Britain’s Sharks and Britain’s Whales, also for ITV. She appeared at Countryfile Live at Blenheim in August and Countryfile Ramble for Children in Need in Edinburgh, returning to Countryfile in November 2016 after maternity leave. In November 2017 she danced and sang as part of a special Countryfile country music routine for BBC’s Children in Need.

In October 2023, after over thirteen years working on Countryfile, Ellie Harrison announced that she had left the series to spend more time with her family and to work on other projects.

Kelly Elizabeth Somers is a British sports presenter and reporter, and a regular contributor to football coverage on radio and television in the UK. Among her presenting credits are appearances on the BBC, Talksport, Premier League Productions (PLP) and Optus Sport. On the BBC she has appeared on programmes such as Final Score, where she provides English Football League coverage alongside Mark Clemmit and Match of the Day. She can also be seen presenting Premier League Football coverage for Amazon Prime.

Kelly Somers has worked for a number of media outlets, including the BBC and Talksport. In 2018 she presented coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup for Optus Sport, and in 2019 presented the BBC’s coverage of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which required many activities, including football, to cease for a while, she was part of the reporting team to cover one of the first matches to be played when football was allowed to resume in June 2020. The game, which saw Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace, was also the first Premier League match to be shown live on BBC television, and the first top-level match to be aired by BBC television since 1988. In August 2020, she became the sixth woman to present an edition of Match of the Day when she provided coverage of the 2020 FA Community Shield, and in 2019 presented the BBC’s coverage of the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship. She is also a regular presenter on BBC One’s The Women’s Football Show and Football Focus. Her other BBC roles have included providing coverage of England’s progress during UEFA Euro 2020, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In June 2022, Kelly Somers became part of the reporting team for Channel 4’s coverage of the UEFA Nations League.

On 11 March 2023, Kelly Somers was one of several sports presenters working for the BBC who announced they would not appear on air following the BBC’s decision to remove Gary Lineker from Match of the Day after controversial comments he made about the UK government’s Illegal Migration Bill. It had initially been reported Kelly Somers would stand in for Alex Scott on Football Focus, but Kelly Somers subsequently announced she would not present the programme.
