Camilla Tominey

Camilla Tominey is a British journalist, broadcaster, and commentator. She is the associate editor and executive editor of The Daily Telegraph. She also writes a weekly column for the newspaper and co-hosts The Daily T podcast with Tim Stanley. Since January 2023, she has presented The Camilla Tominey Show, a Sunday morning politics show on GB News. In 2023 the New Statesman named Camilla Tominey as the 49th most influential right-wing figure in British politics.

Camilla Tominey was offered a traineeship at the Hemel Hempstead Gazette by the then editor. Within two years at the newspaper she had qualified as a senior journalist. After contacting the Sunday Express and asking for shifts, she left the Hemel Hempstead Gazette and joined the Sunday Express. She was offered the opportunity to report on the British royal family by Sunday Express editor Martin Townsend. She began her career as a royal reporter in 2005 when she covered the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

At the Sunday Express she worked in several roles concurrently, firstly as royal editor and deputy political editor, and then as royal editor, political editor and a columnist. Press Gazette journalist Dominic Ponsford said this was “a reflection of tight budgets on the title”. She joined NBC News in 2010 and co-hosted its coverage of the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton from outside Buckingham Palace alongside Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer, Andrew Roberts and Martin Bashir. Camilla Tominey’s scoops have included her 2013 report of Prince Andrew being held at gunpoint by guards at Buckingham Palace. She broke the news of Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle in an article in the Sunday Express on 31 October 2016. The article was nominated for the Scoop of the Year award at the British Press Awards. Camilla Tominey covered Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding, again for NBC News.

Camilla Tominey moved to The Daily Telegraph as associate editor (politics and royals) in 2018. She has been described as holding pro-Brexit views. On 1 May 2021, she began writing a weekly Telegraph column. In June 2021, after misquoting Meghan Markle on a TV programme, she stated that she had received abuse on Twitter and via email, which resulted in Twitter and the police taking action.

On 1 July 2021, it was announced that Camilla Tominey would commence a Sunday afternoon show on call-in radio station LBC. The show, which ran from 4pm to 7pm, began on 4 July. On 18 August 2022, it was reported she would leave LBC and join GB News as a political presenter. Since January 2023, she has presented The Camilla Tominey Show, a weekly political interview show from 9:30am to 11am on Sundays on the channel.

In April 2024, she became The Telegraph’s executive editor, and co-host of The Daily T podcast with Kamal Ahmed.

Camilla Tominey is a patron of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics and the Peace Hospice. She is a contributor to ITV’s This Morning, and has appeared on the BBC’s Any Questions? and Question Time.

Isa Guha

Isa Guha MBE is an English former England cricketer and now a sports television commentator and radio broadcaster. She played in the 2005 South Africa World Cup and the 2009 Australia World Cup.

Isa Guha writes a column for the BBC Sport website and is a Test Match Special commentator. She joined ITV Sport in April 2012 as a co-presenter of ITV4’s coverage of the Indian Premier League.

In 2016, Isa Guha was a member of the inaugural Triple M radio Test cricket commentary team in Australia In 2018, she was a commentator for Sky Sports for the England/Pakistan Test matches, and was named as a commentator for Fox Cricket for their Australian cricket coverage. She was also a member of the commentary team at the 2019 Cricket World Cup. In 2020 she was the lead presenter of a new BBC TV Test and ODI cricket highlights show.

For the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Isa Guha presented a nightly highlights show for the BBC alongside JJ Chalmers. In 2023, Isa Guha joined the tennis presenting team for the BBC’s coverage of the Wimbledon Championships. She presented a nightly highlights show with Mark Chapman for the BBC during the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Sabrina Lee

As a teenager Sabrina Lee was often curious about the weather, atmosphere and climate. How does it all work? Why does it rain? Why is the sky blue?

During her search for universities, Sabrina attended a Visit Day at the Department of Meteorology at Reading. Her experience of visiting the Department left her determined to secure a place to study an undergraduate degree at Reading, and start answering some of her burning questions.

The Department of Meteorology at Reading is the UK’s only dedicated university meteorology department, providing Sabrina with an ideal environment to explore the key themes of meteorology and climate.

Meteorology students can choose this module on weather forecasting, which involves practical classes and presentations to gain a full green screen experience.

Sabrina Lee joined BBC Wales in 2019 and is now presenting the weather to thousands of people each day.

Sabrina Lee credits the Department of Meteorology at Reading for its “support and guidance” in helping her to reach these goals.

Dr Shini Somara

Shini Somara is a British mechanical engineer, media broadcaster, producer and author. She has presented TechKnow on Al Jazeera America and reporting for various BBC shows including The Health Show. Shini Somara has also hosted two educational series of physics and engineering videos on the Crash Course YouTube channel for PBS Digital Studios. She has been a presenter on BBC America, Sky Atlantic, BBC1, BBC2, and PBS.

Shini Somara’s broadcasting career started in 2011 when she presented on the BBC’s The Health Show, covering developments in global health. Later that year, she began hosting No Kitchen Required which aired in 2012 on BBC America. The show involved three professional chefs immersing themselves in alternative culture with tribes and attempting to cook using unfamiliar tribal methods. The first season included trips to Dominica, New Zealand, Thailand and Fiji.

In 2013, Shini Somara started working on the Al Jazeera America talk show TechKnow – a 30-minute show about science and technology. It outlines innovations in technology and science and how they are changing lives of people in America. The shows are recorded with a group of contributors with backgrounds in science and technology.

Between 2014 and late 2016, Shini Somara worked on several BBC productions, including Tomorrow’s Food, Battle of Jutland and Secrets of Orkney with Neil Oliver and Chris Packham, and for Sky Atlantic.

In early 2016, Shini Somara started working with PBS Digital Studios on Crash Course Physics (an online educational resource explaining complicated theories in a simple way with intuitive visuals). She extended her involvement with Crash Course in 2018 with a new series, Crash Course Engineering.

In 2020, Shini Somara was a reporter on the scientific program Razor on CGTN. In January 2021, she was a regular commentator on Science Channel’s Engineering Catastrophes.

Laura Kuenssberg

Laura Kuenssberg is a Scottish journalist and television presenter. She was the political editor of BBC News from 2015 to 2022, and was the first woman to hold the position. She has since presented the BBC’s weekend political discussion programme Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.

Laura Kuenssberg previously served as the BBC’s chief political correspondent and was the first business editor of ITV News. She was also the chief correspondent for Newsnight
between February 2014 and July 2015.

Laura Kuenssberg won the regional Royal Television Society “Most Promising Newcomer” award in 2001 while working as home affairs correspondent for BBC North East and Cumbria.

In 2009, she was appointed chief political correspondent for the BBC. Laura Kuenssberg reported for BBC One bulletins, Daily Politics and the BBC News channel. In May 2010, her presence on BBC Television was so ubiquitous in the period between the 2010 United Kingdom general election and the formation of the Cameron–Clegg coalition that journalist David Aaronovitch coined the term “Kuenssbergovision”.

Laura Kuenssberg took up the newly created role of business editor for ITV News. She also contributed towards business reporting on ITV’s current affairs strand, Tonight.

On 12 November 2013, it was announced that she would leave ITV to return to the BBC as chief correspondent and a presenter of Newsnight, replacing Gavin Esler in the latter role. She joined the Newsnight team in February 2014.

Between the 2017 United Kingdom general election and Brexit in 2020, Laura Kuenssberg also co-presented the BBC’s Brexitcast podcast alongside Katya Adler, Adam Fleming and Chris Mason, which was then retitled as the Newscast podcast.

In September 2023, Laura Kuenssberg presented Laura Kuenssberg: State of Chaos; a three-part political documentary series, which was broadcast on BBC2.

Laura Kuenssberg was the host of the BBC’s election-night coverage for the 2024 United Kingdom general election alongside Clive Myrie.

Anne McAlpine

Anne McAlpine is a Scottish journalist, newsreader and weather presenter working for BBC Alba and BBC Scotland. She is best known for presenting Reporting Scotland and Landward, and narrating Scotland’s Home of the Year.

Anne McAlpine first began her broadcasting career as a contributor to the Scottish Gaelic-language BBC programme Dè a-Nis?,. McAlpine realised her aim of becoming a Gaelic newsreader/broadcaster at this stage, and continued to progress her career with independent production company MNE Media.

With the emergence of BBC Alba, Anne McAlpine became a main presenter of the European current affairs programme Eòrpa, as well as taking on roles presenting various other programmes including An Là and the Scottish Gaelic-language weather.

As the broadcaster’s career progressed, she became an English-language presenter for late bulletins of Reporting Scotland on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, as well as for BBC Scotland’s rural affairs programme Landward. Since 2019, Anne McAlpine has narrated Scotland’s Home of the Year.

On radio, Anne McAlpine hosts the Gaelic-language drive time show Aithris an Fheasgair on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal four times a week.

Anne McAlpine has fronted several of her own shows for BBC Alba. In 2017, Anne McAlpine toured the North Coast 500 in a Volkswagen Beetle for her programme North Coast 500 – Le Anne Lundon. In 2021, she presented An Cuan Sgith (The Minch), a six-part series produced for BBC Alba in which The Minch, a strait separating mainland Scotland and the western isles, is explored. Anne McAlpine similarly presented An t-Uisge/Rain Stories, a BBC Alba series discovering the influence of rain in culture and tradition
in 2022.

Anne McAlpine is based at BBC Scotland’s headquarters known as Pacific Quay in Glasgow.

Izzie Balmer

Izzie Balmer is an English auctioneer, valuer, and television presenter on the BBC daytime shows Antiques Road Trip, Bargain Hunt, and The Travelling Auctioneers. She is a pecialist in jewellery and silver.

Izzie Balmer began her career at Hansons Auctioneers, in Derbyshire, where she worked for four and a half years before moving to Wiltshire. In 2019, she joined the cast of Antiques Road Trip and has also appeared on its celebrity version. She is also a co-presenter on The Travelling Auctioneers. She has also appeared in Flog it!, Make me a dealer and Curiosity.
